Playing Catch Up: Letter For Jamey

You probably remember that "Uncle" Jamey is currently serving our country in Afghanistan. We wanted to send him an extra special care package for Christmas, so we got to work on putting all kinds of goodies together for him. We packed cookies from Nana, trail mix, Skittles, M&Ms, beef jerky, gum, ChapStick, mind games and enough Turkey Hunting and IL Game & Fish magazines to last him a lifetime.
As you can see, Austin worked really hard on his card for "Shamey." He wrote his own message and dictated the pictures he wanted on the other side. (A family portrait, my cell phone and a road)
It only took our package 2 weeks to travel 6000 plus miles. Jamey emailed us to say he and all his fellow Marines enjoyed our treats. It's a small gesture compared to what they do for us, but it's nice to know we might have put a smile on one of their faces!

At the time of this blog post... Jamey only has approximately
8 more weeks until he returns home to his beautiful girls in sunny California!
